EILEEN REGLI SIMPSON 1947-2015 Eileen passed away peacefully on July 9, 2015 in the presence of family members who cared for her in Ferndale after her battle with cancer. Eileen was born in Eureka January 1, 1947 and was raised in Ferndale on the family dairy. She attended Assumption Elementary School, Ferndale High School and Humboldt Business College in Eureka. She demonstrated her love for animals by working 46 years as a veterinary assistant for Dr. Phil Nyberg at the Animal Medical Center in Fortuna. She married Wesley Simpson in 1972. They have resided in Fortuna for 42 years. They had no children of their own, but she has always been known as the fun and crazy "Auntie I" by her numerous nieces and nephews. Eileen had many joys in her life. She especially loved the Christmas holidays, playing cards and games with her monthly girls' group and being involved with family and friends. She is preceded in death by her parents Antone and Elizabeth Regli and her brothers Joseph and Jimmy Regli. She is survived by her husband Wes, her sister Pat (Richard) Cahill of Ferndale, brothers John (Sally) Regli of Sutter Creek and Phil (Harlean) Regli of Fallon NV, her sister-in-law Camille Regli of Ferndale, brothers-in-law John (Pat) Simpson , Fred Simpson , Marvin (Mary) Simpson , all of Madera, CA, Robert Simpson of Scottsdale, AZ and her sister-in-law Olivia (Steve) Ellis of Virginia. The family would like to especially thank Hospice for their guidance and support; the many loyal friends and devoted relatives who watched over Eileen in her final weeks; cousin Vernon LaCrampe who shared his home while Eileen visited UCSF and a special thank you to the Simpson Family for caring for her husband Wes in Madera during this time. At Eileen 's request, a private family service will be held at a later date.
